Arctic Truck Driver on thin ice and with a heavy load
Arctic Truck Driver puts you behind the wheel of a truck on frozen lakes and offers to take trips from the order board. You're carrying a load on ice, where speed decides whether the area under the wheels will hold up, and the racing part depends on the exact choice of pace.
How to take your first order
First, select a flight from the order board: there are mine supplies, a fuel truck, long pipes, explosives and towing a broken pickup to the camp. Each order changes the weight and behavior of the machine. After loading, immediately look at the area of ice in front of you and plan in advance where you will slow down.
How to tell if ice is thin
The dark ice with glowing cracks is thin, and on it the truck breaks the coating if the speed is too high. Thick ice holds better, but even there you need to avoid open water and ice ridges. The ice stress scale shows the danger of the area. The same calculation of progress is needed in Offroad Truck Driving Simulator: here, too, you first evaluate the path, then accelerate.
Why can’t you walk closely in a column?
In a convoy, keep your distance so as not to collide with the truck ahead in a tight area. The fuel truck is especially capricious: the fuel splashes when you brake, and the car loses stability. Therefore, soft throttle and early deceleration are more important than sudden maneuvers if there is an ice bank or a narrow passage ahead.
