Games Card
Card games split into two big groups. In solitaire, you play against the layout: the cards are already dealt, and the only question is whether you can find a way to clear them. In the others, you’ve got opponents — the computer or real players — and there, reading the other side matters more than counting possibilities.
Solitaire
The biggest part of the section. Klondike and Spider are classics, where you build suits from king to ace. TriPeaks works differently: the cards are laid out in pyramids, and you can remove cards that are one rank higher or lower than the open card. Klondike Solitaire Treasures takes classic Klondike through a series of levels, and Solitaire Shuffle lets you reshuffle the deck if you hit a dead end.
Not every deal can be solved
An important detail beginners don’t know: some solitaire deals are impossible to finish at all. That’s built into the rules, and no sequence of moves will help. That’s why games usually have a new deal button — you should use it instead of banging your head against a dead end.
Games with opponents
Rummikub is closer to dominoes than cards: you build sets from numbered tiles and lay them out on the table. Hanafuda Koi Koi is a Japanese card game with floral suits; the rules are unusual and take a couple of rounds to get used to. Il gioco della Scopa uses Italian rules: you take cards from the table if their sum matches the card in your hand.
