About Crocword — Gameplay & Story

Crocword is a colorful crossword puzzle hosted by Professor Croc, a friendly green crocodile with a Ph.D. in Words Science. You drag through a pool of letters at the bottom to spell words, then watch them slot into the empty rows and columns of the grid above. Fans of Kitty Scramble and Word Sauce will spot the family resemblance immediately. The game runs in any modern browser on PC, smartphone and tablet, with zero download.

Main gameplay

What sets Crocword apart is the clean crossword structure paired with a generous bonus economy. Each level shows a small letter set — usually four to seven characters — and a grid with intersecting empty slots. Your job is to find every required word by connecting letters in any order. Extra words built from the same pool drop bonus gold into your stash, which you then spend on hints or unlock new episodes.

What you need to do

Your task is to fill every empty cell of the puzzle with the right word. Drag through letter tiles, watch the grid light up piece by piece, and chase bonus combinations on the side for extra rewards. Each completed crossword bumps the professor's research forward and rolls you into the next themed episode.

Levels and goals

Hundreds of episodes carry the professor across diverse landscapes — tropical jungles, alpine peaks, city districts and seasonal scenes. Letter counts grow with progress, and so do the number of slots in each grid. Coins earned per level plus bonus-word gold fund hints, while cherries collected along the way unlock cosmetic rewards. Daily login bonuses keep the wallet healthy.

How to play

  1. Look at the empty rows and columns in the crossword grid above the letter pool.
  2. Click and drag across letter tiles in any order to spell a word.
  3. Release — valid answers snap into the matching slots automatically.
  4. Tap the hint icon when stuck, or check the daily prize wheel for free coins.
  • Try every short word first — three- and four-letter answers often reveal the shape of longer ones intersecting them.
  • When the screen feels stuck, look for prefixes (un-, re-, pre-) and suffixes (-ing, -er, -ed) hidden in the letter pool.

FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I play Crocword for free, without installing from the Play Market?

Right here on SGameS — the game opens in the browser, without downloading an APK or registering.

Do I need to register to play Crocword?

No, progress occurs within a session in the browser, without creating an account.

How to get a hint in Crocword?

The hint reveals one letter in a word and deducts gold coins earned from completed levels.

What gives the “extra” words that are not in the crossword puzzle?

For them, bonus gold is awarded on top of normal progress — this is a way to save coins for hints faster.

Can I play Crocword on my phone?

Yes, the game works on both PC and mobile browsers — the controls adapt to swiping on the touch screen.

Is there a donation in Crocword?

The game has coins that can be earned by passing or, in the mobile version, purchased in addition — this is not necessary to play in the browser.

Is the difficulty of the levels in Crocword the same or does it increase?

The difficulty increases episode by episode: the further the level, the longer the words and the more complex the intersections in the grid.

What should I do if I can’t find the last word on a level?

Check the free letters in the set — often the missing word is shorter than it seems and is assembled from already used letters in a different order.
