3D Pinball Space Cadet — complete missions and rise in rank

The task is to shoot down targets with flippers and complete missions one after another. Each mission opens a step towards a new rank, and failure simply returns you to the previous one. This ZD pinball based on the classic Windows 98 table, with ramps, portals and a black hole hole. The ball is launched manually: the longer you hold the button, the stronger the blow.

The path from cadet to admiral

You rise through nine ranks: from cadet to fleet admiral. To get promoted you need to complete almost 20 missions. Each mission begins by hitting select targets to the left of the table. Fall into the hole of a black hole — get 5000 points and a short pause for precise aiming. There is a similar account of ranks in Space Pinball, but here the missions are longer.

The first minutes behind the flippers

The controls are simple: two buttons for flippers and one for launching the ball. The difficulty increases not from the buttons, but from the physics: the ball bounces sharply and unpredictably. Players are advised to aim for the middle medal target from the right flipper. This is a classic pinball no hints or tutorial levels.

Ramps, portals and holes

There are yellow and red portals on the table: hitting either one adds an extra ball. The ramp at the top will trigger the mission if it's already selected. Three targets in the center of the table are responsible for medals and bonus balls. In spirit it is similar to Pinball Legends, but there is a different set of goals here.

Guide:

  1. Hold the launch button and release it to set the ball's impact force.
  2. Use the flippers to aim the ball at the mission select targets to the left of the table.
  3. Bring the ball onto the ramp above to officially begin the mission.
  4. Shoot down targets and portals until you score the required mission points.
  5. Complete the mission before losing all the balls and get a promotion in rank.

Adviсe:

  • Aim for the middle medal target with the right flipper — this is the most difficult of the three targets.
  • Start the round with the mission selection targets on the left: this way your rank will increase faster.
  • After the ball leaves the portal, lightly push the table — the ball will more accurately land on the ramp.

FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions

How to choose a mission?

Hit one of the selection targets to the left of the table and it will light up. The active target launches the mission through the ramp above. If you miss, just try again on the next ball.

How to get an extra ball?

Shoot down all three medal targets in the center of the table in a row and the purple light will turn on. While it is burning, each new series of three targets gives one more ball. This is the most reliable way to prolong the game.

How many points does a black hole give?

Hitting the ball into the hole of a black hole brings 5000 points immediately. You also get a short pause before the next flipper hit. This is a good time to take aim again.

How many ranks are there in the game?

There are nine ranks in the game, from cadet to fleet admiral. Each rank opens after a series of several completed missions. The higher the rank, the more difficult the mission conditions become.

What do portals do?

The yellow and red portals are on the sides of the table at the top. If a ball hits any of them, a spare ball is given. It’s easier to direct the ball there using the left or right flipper in turn.
