Forgotten Hill The Wardrobe Chapter 1: Other Friends - quest in the Anderson house
You return home after a long absence to find Brother Waylon locked in his room. He is sick, and the reason is not an ordinary illness. While you were away, he made friends with other children - and these “friends” want to continue the game they started. The main clue is hidden in the Anderson family's old closet.
This is a point-and-click first-person experience. You click on rooms, look at furniture, take items into your inventory and use them where they fit. The layout of the rooms is the same as in Forgotten Hill Disillusion: The library, but here the action takes place in a residential building, and not in someone else's building.
Riddles, not hidden object puzzles
The main load is not collecting things, but mechanical puzzles inside the rooms. The most noticeable one is built on the piano: the game shows a sequence of symbols, you remember it and repeat it. If you make a mistake, you start again. A separate mystery awaits in the bedroom, and players note that there are almost no clues to it. If you get stuck, the game has a built-in hint system. There is a similar emphasis on precise manipulation of objects in Forgotten Hill: Surgery.
A short chapter, not a full game
This is the first episode of the spin-off series, and it takes about forty minutes to complete. The story doesn't close: the answer to the question of who Waylon's new friends were is carried over to Forgotten Hill The Wardrobe Chapter 2 - Two Sisters. The atmosphere is built on drawn interiors and static shots, without chases or reactions.
